Foxconn Targets AMD and the Computer Enthusiast

Many do not realize how huge Foxconn is in the computer market. They may have seen Foxconn connectors on their motherboards, but they would likely be surprised at how many motherboards Foxconn makes for other companies. This includes the fact that Foxconn is a huge manufacturer of motherboards for Intel. Perhaps because of that relationship, Foxconn was displaying very few AMD boards in their booth.

However, once you were in private meetings with Foxconn, the picture changed. It is clear that Foxconn is planning a major push into the AMD market with their own branded motherboards. We have seen this developing over the last couple of years, as Foxconn has produced new boards with more and more features and controls aimed at the Computer Enthusiast. Now, what has been a trickle will likely turn into a torrent.

These ranged from the full blown Winfast nForce4-SLI, which expands the line that already includes a Winfast nF4 Ultra...

Foxconn also is keeping a full-blown SiS AMD board in their AMD offerings. We have been very pleased with the Foxconn implementations of the SiS chipset for AMD in the past, so it is good to see a continuing commitment to the SiS chipset.

    Thanks, I see.

So carbon is a good electrical insulator, but also a good thermal conductor.

good news to hear that abit is out of trouble

but what the hell is going on with their guru clock?
    looks ugly as hell

the 5.25" one in an older article (with the bios nuke button) was nice but not this new external one

    Correct about the diamonds.

However, such little carbon is really not going to affect the thermals of the system. Besides, even if it transfers heat well, there still has to be surface area of the heat to dissapate.

No. Carbon is an excellent conductor of heat. It's the reason why diamond is the best conductor of heat in the world - it is very densely-packed carbon..or something like that.

Wouldn't the carbon fibre act as an insulator?

well, personally i fancy the corsair led RAMs, but even MORE Important to me is the last pace MINI PC...

...i'm currently looking for a SILENT FANLESS PC; should be reasonably powered, can be a MINI PC, better if it has at least a 3 5'25" slots space so that i can put a 5 SATA bloc on it.

anybody able to give directions ?

    =)

    THANKS

500mhz@1w, windows ce... sounds awfully like the craptastic AMD PIC. Though I must admit, it looks a lot more interesting in a decent-looking box

How comes even though the Geil RAM is running at DDR2-1066, it's still only through-putting 2896MB/s - pretty low isn't it for such fast RAM (I'm aware of the timings, but still)...
