The Bad

There really is not much "bad" to report with the C300. The performance numbers were a little bit lower than other motherboards we have seen. Flashing the latest BIOS and then tweaking it made little difference.

Diamond has chosen not to include any overclocked FSB speeds, so overclocking is virtually impossible with the C300 in this day of multiplier-locked CPU's. As an i440LX solution, upgradability to 100MHz CPU's is obviously out of the question.

Finally, as mentioned earlier, the hardware monitoring chips were not including on our evaluation sample to keep the cost down and ACPI support was nonfunctional.
